An industrial engineering firm is looking to employ a QHSE Supervisor.
Job Summary
The QHSE manager shall deliver on the development and maintenance of management systems for quality, health, safety and environment in accordance with ISO 9001Primary Responsibilities
• Assisting in planning and strategic direction of Company, particularly with respect to QHSE related matters• Assist the HSE team during inspections/ audits and ensure compliance with standard
• Promote adherence to safety regulations on site
• Manage general risks and promote respect and understanding among workers on site
• Collate weekly reports from Safety Supervisors and send to QHSE manager.
• Follow up recommended actions from reports on-site safety meetings to ensure they are addressed
• Support the QHSE Manager to prepare policies and procedures for company’s Quality, Health, Safety and environment program which must meet the required standard.
• Be part of any emergency response team or disaster recovery team in the event of accident.
• Provide support on Incident investigation and Root cause Analysis.
• Assist with coordinating induction and training of new employees and sub-contractor(s)
• Monitor strict implementation of permit to work, proper waste segregation and disposal on site.
• Eliminate hazards and Unsafe Acts/conditions.
• Maintain accurate safety statistics of accidents, incidents and near misses on site.
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of project specific HSE plans
• Ensure compliance with journey management procedure
• Attend internal meetings regarding the company’s QHSE policies and procedures
• Attend pre-job planning and client meetings as required on HSE related matters.
• Assist with developing QHSE plans that comply with Company policies and procedures as well as client requirements.
• Support the QHSE Manager in preparing regular, weekly and monthly reports including compiling QHSE statistics and other data required for the QMS, EMS and OHSMS
• Perform site inspections and audits regularly to ascertain that laid down QHSE procedures and Policies are adhered to.
• Assist the QHSE Manager in the implementation of the company’s ISO-9001 compliant quality management system (QMS) throughout the business
• Investigate and complete the process for close out of all Accident Investigation Reports and prepare/submit lessons learned to QHSE Manager.
• Ensure the requirements of the reporting policy are fulfilled.
• Develop continuous improvement plans.
• Educate and inform staff on the Company's QHSE policies and procedures
• Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives
• Support implementation and conduction of Management of change process.
• Carry out any other QHSE duty assigned by the QHSE Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MIN REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:5 year(s) relevant experience.
MIN QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor's Degree/HND
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
NISP MembershipNEBOSH Certification
Experience developing and maintaining management systems for quality, health & safety and environment
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor’s Course
Must not be older than 35 yrs
