Reason Why Brazil Freezes Facebook's $6M
On Thursday, a Brazil Court blocked $6M of Facebook’s money when it’s WhatsApp messaging service couldn’t retrieve messages in a criminal drug case.
Yeah, they still don’t get that Facebook can’t hack the messages🙄. The process has been going on for months and they still can’t seem to get it through their heads that no one has the resources or might to decrypt today’s end-2-end encryption.
The $6 M is equal to the total amount of WhatsApp’s accumulated fines for failing to comply with the Police🏼. The judge was forced to freeze the assets as WhatsApp doesn’t have a bank account in Brazil. Fortunately, this time, the court didn’t shut down the app completely as it did in the past.
