MORE OF YOUR QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED IN WINDOWS 10

You've sent us dozens of Windows 10 questions in the past few weeks, and we have another round of answers to your troubles with storage, drivers, Cortana, and dual-booting.
Limited storage space

"I have an Asus Eeebook X205TA with a 32GB hard drive and Windows 8.1. The computer says that I have only 6.2GB free of 18GB total. Before I knew this, I tried downloading Windows 10 and it failed halfway due to what it said was lack of space. Any advice on how I might get Windows 10 on this little notebook?" --Ray R.

If your device doesn't have enough storage space to use the Get Windows 10 app to obtain the free upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1, you have alternatives, but they require having another PC on hand. If you do, you can download a legit copy of Windows 10 from Microsoft, then install that on a USB thumb drive or burn it onto a recordable DVD. The tool on that Microsoft webpage will walk you through the process. You can pick up an external optical drive for $30 or less, or you can get an 8GB thumb drive for a few bucks. While the thumb drive is cheaper and faster, we've found that an optical disk is still more reliable as an installation medium.

Just FYI: To use this copy of Windows 10, you must either be upgrading from Windows 7 or 8.1 or else have a Windows 10 product key. Otherwise, your Windows 10 will not activate.
Changing the color of the title bar

"Is there a way to change the color of the title bar of the window in Windows 10? The new Firefox (thankfully) somehow makes it grey, so it's not the blinding white everything else is. I'd LOVE to do this for the other windows but can't find out where to do it. You'd think under 'personalization'... but it's not there. At least not that I can find." --Rob S.

A few Google searches have show us that there are ways, but they're all hacks that could get reverted with a patch from Microsoft, and they sometimes require you to download files from sources whose trustworthiness is difficult to verify. However, the demand for this feature has been so great that Microsoft is likely to integrate it into Windows 10 anyway.

Mystery network devices

"The Get Windows 10 app has invited me to upgrade, and I go to download/update, but I get a message saying there are no network devices on the laptop. It is a Toshiba L300d 242. I have researched this issue and understand that it is quite a problem for lots of would-be users. I could pay DriverToolkit $39, and maybe that would resolve the issue with updated drivers, but I am not sure this would do the necessary. The above in mind, do you have any suggestions as to where I can get these updated drivers, please?" --Paul

You can try updating your Satellite Pro's drivers with the ones available on Toshiba's website. But they may not be newer than the ones you already have installed. If this method doesn't work, you may be able to bypass your current network devices by getting a USB Ethernet adapter. As its name implies, this plugs into a USB port on your device and has an Ethernet port on the other side. You can also try installing your upgrade by using a copy of Windows 10 downloaded from Microsoft.

Audio driver errors

"I have an Acer Aspire 5750-6438 laptop. I upgraded to Window 10 on July 30. It's been a pain trying to maneuver through the different screens and programs. I am getting an error for Dolby Advanced Audio that the latest driver -- 7.2.8000 -- is not compatible. I need to download version 7.2.7000.4, but I do not know where to go. Can you help?" --Gladys M.

We've seen reports of this problem elsewhere. The solution for some people has been to uninstall the current driver and restart your device. To uninstall, click the Start button, right-click on File Explorer, select Properties, and click on Device Manager on the left-hand side. In the Device Manager window, click the arrow next to Audio Inputs and Outputs, right-click your Realtek audio device, and select Uninstall. Click OK to confirm your choice, give the device a moment to uninstall, then reboot your PC.

Cortana and GPS problems

"Having only upgraded one computer so far, the most obvious flaw in Windows 10 for me is Cortana. It feels to me that they made a direct lift of Cortana from the Windows phone. That's not necessarily a bad thing. But it has opened the door to a glaring issue: It appears to me that when locating itself, Cortana relies on the GPS first and then Internet access. The problem is lots of desktop computers out there do not have a built-in GPS. So, it falls back to looking for the Internet. That can result in the found location sometimes being a large number of miles off the mark. I've tested this hypothesis by sharing my cell phone's GPS with my computer. When it's active, Cortana answers the question, 'Where am I?' correctly."--Warren W.

This sounds like something that Microsoft will probably fix before long, since location detection is a big part of Cortana's functionality. In the meantime, it sounds like you've found a workaround that could work for others.
Saving Windows 10 for much later

"I have a PC that I would like to continue using Windows 7 on until 2020. However, I don't want to lose the free upgrade to Windows 10. Can I image my Windows 7 to another drive and then upgrade it to Windows 10 and then save it for later?" --NH

Dual-booting Windows 7 and an image of a Windows 7 installation that has been upgraded to Windows 10 should work, and it seems like it should fall within the licensing rules. You'll just need to remember to periodically boot into Windows 10 and check Windows Update for patches. Otherwise you could have some seriously big downloads coming your way. Also, make sure that you have enough storage space to create the partition for the Windows 10 image.
